Patriot's Weekend 2005
Treason! The Arnold-André Conspiracy
September 29- October 2, 2005
Two hundred twenty-five years ago, the Hudson River Valley was the major
theater of the Revolutionary War, what George Washington referred to as the “Key
to Victory.” Each year through 2008, the region will observe Patriots’ Weekend to
commemorate and celebrate the War for American Independence. Patriots’
Weekend, 2005 will highlight the 225th Anniversary of Major General Benedict
Arnold’s plot to betray Fortress West Point (1780) and the capture, trial, and
execution of British General Sir Henry Clinton’s Adjutant General, Major John
André.
