Colonial America
The Hudson River Valley, from Manhattan to Albany and further
north to the Adirondacks, was settled over a period of more than
a hundred years. Today, the Hudson Valley still retains its memory of
this period influenced by Dutch, French, English, and German ideas as
well as by its original Native American legacies.
Lesson plans on these Colonial times present an investigation of
each of these influences and their lasting contributions to the Valley,
as well as an overview of the interaction between the various populations
of the region in Colonial America.
