Mushroom Place II. The mushroom beds were arranged in about six tiers with slippery damp planks set so the workers could walk around and pick the mushrooms or spread the beds with manure. The workers lived in a small room in the mushoom barn. When the manure was delivered, it would be heaped in steaming mounds next to this building.
