U.S. Congresswoman Sue Kelly has helped secure a $250,000 federal grant through the Save America's Treasures that will help preserve Manitoga history, architecture, and landscape for local residents and visitors.


Putnam County is the First In the Country to Have "Preserve America Passport", The Putnam County News and Recorder, October 19, 2005

Putnam County chosen for the national designation as a "Preserve America Community" This will create more heritage tourism in the Hudson Valley. The passprt outlines the history of historical locations in Putnam County. Also, the city of beacon has been designated the most recent "Preserve America Community" in NY.

Putnam County Executive Robert Bondi was presented with official Perserve America proclamation at a meeting of the Putnam Legislature.


First Lady Laura Bush names Putnam County one of the first eight Preserve American Communities in the United States, honoring their commitment to protecting their heritage

On January 15, 2004, First Lady Laura Bush presented a Preserve America Community Award to Hudson River Valley Institute's Executive Director James M. Johnson and Hudson River Navigator Vincent Tamagna in a ceremony in the East Room of the White House.
