About the maps
TrailTripTip: To find monument MA23, go back to Stonebridge Road and continue east to Old Connecticut Path. Turn left onto Old Connecticut Path and follow north to junction with Route 27 and watch for the monument on your right just before that junction.

Notes: The site preserves the old stone bridge and indicates the original road crossing at this point. A small stone monument stands here but it is not on the pattern of the others on the Massachusetts portion of the Trail. The type of stone is similar to the others, and it is reported that no-one in the area ever recalls seeing another monument at this place, so possibly it is original to the 1927 installation. Context: Primary source documentation for this part of the expedition is generally lacking. However, we are working with historians in Massachusetts to develop context information for each of these locations, and this will be added here at a later date.
