About the maps
TrailTripTip: To find monument atDorchester Heights, continue on ahead on Waverly Street and turn right onto Albany Street. Turn right onto Route 2A and cross river on bridge. Go ahead onto Massachusetts Avenue after crossing Route 9. Bear left on Southampton Street when road divides and go under I-93. About 100 yards after I-93, at a 5-way intersection, bear left onto Dorchester Street. After you cross 8th Street, turn right onto Telegraph Street and go to the end.

Context: The remains of this fort represent the several fortified positions occupied in the Cambridge area by General Washington during the winter of 1775/76. It is likely some of the cannon brought from Fort Ticonderoga passed through this place on their way to Dorchester Heights.
