One of the most famous regiments recruited from the Hudson Valley, "The Orange Blossoms," referred to officially as the 124th New York Regiment.

  • March 26, 1865: Lieut. Col. Charles H. Weygant, One hundred and twenty-fourth New York Infantry to ADJUTANT-GENERAL FIRST BRIG., THIRD DIV., SECOND CORPS, regarding the capture of the battle flag of the 59th Alabama by Private George W. Tompkins, of Company F.
  • MARCH 29-APRIL 9, 1865. -- The Appomattox (Virginia) Campaign.  No. 67. -- Report of Brig. Gen. Regis de Trobriand, U. S. Army, commanding Third Division.
