We continue our 20th anniversary intern alum spotlights with Kim Gomez, Marist ‘17.

Kim majored in Special Education and Psychology and is a public school teacher for the New York City Department of Education.

Kim shares her advice to future HRVI interns:

"I cannot say this enough: Experience It. The Hudson River Valley is an incredible place to be a part of the past. There are so many historic places to explore that our past leaders have walked on, fought on, and signed documents that have guided our history, such as the Roosevelt Mansion, Fort Montgomery, and my personal favorite, the FDR Presidential Library and Museum. My time at HRVI has also taught me to appreciate and value the mentors and friends who have guided you and have supported you even past your time at HRVI. There are very few days where I don’t smile looking at my Colonel coins, laugh thinking about how difficult it was to shoot off a cannon, and wish I could still be at HRVI. Thank you, HRVI, for being a part of my journey."

Read her full update here. This update, and all of the updates to be featured this year, will be linked to each alumni's name on the Interns page of the website.
