We continue our 20th anniversary intern alum spotlights with Kristin Hellmann, Marist ‘04.

Kristin majored in History at Marist and has a Master's in Library and Information Science with a Concentration in Archives and Records Management from Long Island University. Today, she is the Assistant Community Library Manager of the Laurelton Branch of the Queens Public Library system.

Kristin shares her advise for future HRVI interns:

"Be adventurous. If there is a project that is really calling to you, go for it. You may decide not to follow a career in history, but you may find another passion through the work. I was able to explore some of the beautiful mansions in the Hudson River Valley and found a real love of photography all because of HRVI. Also, listen to your staff. Colonel and Chris were great mentors and gave me so many opportunities in the field that I knew what I wanted to do with my career."

Read her full update here. This update, and all of the updates to be featured this year, will be linked to each alum's name on the Interns page of the website.
