Maggie Mansfield, Marist ‘21

Majored in Communications (Advertising, Digital Media/Graphic Design) with a Minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies

What has your career path been to this point?

I am currently working with Dahai Art in London as a freelance graphic designer and considering additional opportunities in New York for art direction.

Can you share an experience/memory from your time at HRVI that stands out as meaningful?

Although meeting virtually* was challenging at times, I really liked working with Chris and Andy to create the 2021 Update (newsletter) and a catalog of back issues of The Hudson River Valley Review.

*(Maggie’s internship took place during COVID restrictions)*

How has your experience at HRVI helped you advance your education and/or professional pursuits since graduating from Marist?

Working virtually with HRVI definitely eased me into working "remote" even though I was still on campus. I was able to create some great content with them both for HRVI and to add to my resume

As HRVI celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2022, do you have any advice for future HRVI interns based on your time at HRVI and your experience in your professional field?

I would say it is a great experience and connection to have. You never know where opportunities might come from or lead to, but having great people like the ones at HRVI on your resume as experience and references is always a good thing.
